Job Title: DIRECTOR OR SENIOR DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (REAL-WORLD DATA AND REAL-WORLD EVIDENCE)

Your Impact:

As the Director of Business Development, you will be a high-impact sales leader responsible for driving new revenue generation by securing large, multi-year Real-World Data agreements and Real-World Evidence (RWE) projects. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, you will serve as a principal individual contributor bringing an entrepreneurial “hunter” drive to build a high-growth book of business from the ground up. You will combine consultative selling skills with the executive presence necessary to navigate complex political dynamics within top-tier Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, and CRO organizations. By architecting data solutions that address critical research pain points, you will directly impact the rapid expansion and market leadership of Verana Health.

Your Core Focus:

  • Revenue Generation & Lifecycle Management: Manage every facet of the sales lifecycle—from lead generation and prospecting through contract execution—to secure large-scale, multi-year RWE agreements and exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Consultative Solutioning & Deal Execution: Partner with clients to understand their scientific goals and architect tailored, end-to-end data solutions. Lead high-stakes presentations, coordinate RFI/RFP responses, and develop high-quality proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Strategic Account & Executive Relationship Management: Build and nurture deep relationships with key decision-makers across assigned accounts, gaining critical visibility into organizational dynamics to position Verana as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal Product, Data, and Operations teams to maintain complete fluency in Verana’s product offerings and ensure seamless alignment from pre-sales through contract close.
  • Pipeline Governance & Market Ambassadorship: Build and manage a rigorous personal sales funnel to provide executive leadership with accurate, data-driven forecasts while acting as an external brand champion at industry events.

Who You Are:

  • Inclusive, Collaborative, and Diverse Leader: You thrive on a balanced variety of perspectives. By keeping an open mind and actively fostering inclusion, you collaborate through tough conversations to build consensus, turning diverse viewpoints into organizational strengths.
  • Deeply Responsible and Accountable: You take full ownership of your actions and strategic decisions. You operate with confidence and thorough due diligence, holding yourself explicitly accountable for the outcomes and consequences that affect Verana’s projects, partners, and patients.
  • Grounded in Integrity and Authenticity: You practice honesty, transparency, and strong ethical principles, even in the face of adversity. By standing up for what is right and treating everyone with respect, you help cultivate a safe, high-trust environment where team members can bring their full selves to work—and have fun doing it.
  • Customer-First and Innovatively Minded: You put the customer first by listening to feedback with agility and sensitivity. Rather than simply reacting to the market, you look to innovate to stay ahead of their needs, ensuring that our partners and clients remain the heroes of their own stories. Recognize that the Verana Health customer includes life science companies, physician groups and health systems that provide data, major medical organizations, and ultimately patients themselves.
  • Driven by Meaningful End-Results: You focus on the final destination, prioritizing both the quantifiable deliverables and the ultimate societal impact of your work. You define success by providing qualified, meaningful value and insights, consistently delivering on your commitments exactly as promised.

Your Blueprint for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of professional sales experience specifically targeting Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, and CRO organizations.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting or exceeding quotas through the sale of complex technical solutions and data offerings.
  • Deep knowledge of the Real-World Data (RWD) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) landscape, including its historical evolution, current trajectory, and future impact on medical research.
  • Entrepreneurial “hunter” mentality with proven resilience and agility to build a large book of business in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong executive credibility and business acumen required to lead high-stakes meetings and navigate strategic account dynamics.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and architect customized solutions addressing critical customer pain points.

Any of these experiences would add value but are not essential for success:

  • Established network of active contacts within RWE-focused departments at major Life Sciences companies.
  • Prior experience delivering advanced, data-driven platforms that address condition-specific clinical research.

Salary Range: $147,054 - $183,818 (A geographic premium may be applied to base salary)

Final note:

You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply for this position. Here at Verana, we know that diverse perspectives foster the innovation we need to be successful, and we are committed to building a team that encompasses a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills.

Caution to Job Applicants: Be vigilant against potential scams. Verana Health will never ask for payment or personal information upfront. As a hybrid Account Executive/Account Manager in our SMB segment (accounts of 1 to 200 employees), based in our future Apollo Bangalore office, you own the full commercial relationship for your book: new logo acquisition through inbound leads, and the expansion and renewal of accounts you have already closed or inherited.

Role overview

  • Single point of contact end to end: first conversation, trial, negotiation, close, onboarding handoff, expansion and renewal
  • Guide founders, sales leaders and RevOps professionals through evaluating Apollo’s all-in-one sales platform, then manage the relationship after they buy
  • Split motion: part of your time on inbound new-business opportunities, part managing and growing an owned book of existing accounts
  • Based in Bangalore, open to in-office presence once office opens

Pipeline and sales process execution

  • Manage the entire sales process, new and existing, from first conversation through trial management, negotiation, legal and close, inside an average cycle of 30 days or less
  • Manage a pipeline of primarily inbound prospects for new business, and inbound inquiries from your own book for expansion and renewal
  • Take 5 or more discovery and customer calls per day, and run 25 or more meetings per week combined across new business and book management
  • Negotiate renewals within your book on a recurring monthly cadence
  • Consistently create 3x pipeline coverage month over month, across both motions
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly quotas for new business bookings and net revenue retention
  • Own your schedule across buyer and customer research, initial meetings, platform demos, CRM hygiene, escalations, follow-ups and pricing calls
  • Handle objections confidently, live, whether from a prospect evaluating Apollo or a customer facing a renewal

Sales strategy and deal management

  • Run consultative discovery, asking layered questions and tying findings back to value and business outcomes, whether the account is new or existing
  • Communicate directly with Director and above contacts in Sales, Marketing and RevOps
  • Tier your book to prioritize top new-business opportunities, top expansion accounts and top at-risk renewals
  • Articulate a clear view of your combined pipeline, deals and renewals at each stage of your funnel
  • Forecast your most likely outcome, across new business and renewals, within a 10% margin
  • Hold price and manage discounting inside a 30-day cycle, on both net-new deals and renewals
  • Apply AI tooling to your own workflow to compress research, prep and follow-up time across a broader scope of work than a single-motion seat

Mindset and culture

  • Thrive in a competitive environment, embracing challenges, enjoying objection handling and using setbacks as fuel
  • Take responsibility for successes and failures with a relentless drive to keep improving
  • Maintain a sharp focus on your goals and a belief that your daily, weekly and monthly activities will get you there
  • Be a self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities and stays motivated in the face of multiple objections, across both acquisition and retention work
  • Bring a team-selling approach, proactively engaging leadership to support selling and saving deals
  • Engage as your unique self in a diverse, inclusive and high-performing team

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years of closing and account management experience combined, carrying a monthly or quarterly quota that included both net-new and existing-book responsibility. Candidates with only one side of this (pure AE or pure AM) should show clear evidence of fast ramp on the other
  • 1+ year running a high-volume motion: 5 or more meetings a day, deals closing inside one to three meetings, and a book of existing accounts managed in parallel
  • Top performer in current role, at or above 100% attainment across the trailing three quarters, with stack rank known
  • Deal and book economics consistent with SMB: 30-day-or-less cycles, accounts under 200 employees
  • A named consultative sales process applied day to day, on new deals and renewal conversations alike
  • Came up through an SDR, BDR or equivalent high-volume sales seat, or through a book-owning CS/AM seat, before this role
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve sales and account-management productivity
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical roles
  • Coachable, and demonstrably so: you take feedback inside the conversation, not after it
  • Based in Bangalore, India

  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly quotas for new-business bookings and net revenue retention
  • Own your schedule across research, initial meetings, platform demos, CRM hygiene, escalations, follow-up meetings, business reviews and pricing calls

What this role involves

About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a “normalized” problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

  • Experience resolving complex, high-stakes escalations with senior customer executives
  • Experience conducting open-ended discovery workshops, creating strategic roadmaps, conducting business analysis, and managing delivery of complex programs/projects

Sales Sales Engineer, Germany at Rubrik

Provides technical pre-sales leadership through discovery, demos, solution design, and validation for enterprise customers in Germany.

Mid Hybrid Posted 9 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Team & About Role

Ready for an opportunity to make a substantial impact with a disruptive tech company while building your pre-sales career? Rubrik, Inc. has an amazing product, a supercharged team and the financial backing of Lightspeed Ventures, Greylock Partners and Khosla Ventures. Bottom line, if you have limitless drive and like to win, we want to talk to you!

Rubrik is looking for a Sales Engineer to provide technical direction and business guidance to our Enterprise sales team in Germany. As a Sales Engineer, you’ll be accountable for regional revenue goals by driving innovative technical programs and owning day-to-day account-level activities, working in a 2:1 partnership with two Account Executives. You’ll be responsible for evangelising, positioning, and architecting Rubrik’s Data Resilience, Observability, and Remediation tools for a targeted list of new and existing enterprise customers, concentrated in Southern Germany.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to customers and internal staff in the development of fully integrated technology solutions in support of pre-sales activities across your patch.
  • Own discovery, demo, and technical validation (POC or otherwise) largely independently, so opportunities keep moving without waiting on specialist support at every step.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and subject matter expertise on Rubrik’s products and platform, adapting your pitch across on-prem, cloud, SaaS, identity, and increasingly AI-driven customer requirements.
  • Act as technical expert and consultant, developing and proposing solutions that meet the technology and business requirements of your named accounts.
  • Make technical and sales presentations to customers’ technical staff and senior management; in person as well as remotely, including travel within Germany for onsite meetings and workshops.
  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor to customers, building champions who advocate for Rubrik through the full evaluation and buying process.
  • Build a genuine partnership with your two Account Executives and the wider ecosystem (specialists, channel, marketing). Thee strongest patches are the ones where sales and SE work hand-in-hand as one team.
  • Bring a generalist’s breadth across Rubrik’s platform - Cloud, Identity, Security, Datacenter - and know when to pull in specialists to go deep on bigger engagements, briefing them and bringing them into customer meetings.
  • Qualify sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision-making process, and funding.

Experience You’ll Need

  • Strong sales engineering experience, ideally in a software or data centre environment; whether that’s 5 years or 15, how you operate matters more than a specific number.
  • Confidence running live, hands-on product demonstrations. This is a demo-led role, not a slideware one.
  • A genuinely autonomous, self-starting approach: you’ll own your patch and build your own path to success with your AEs and specialists, rather than work accounts handed down to you.
  • A fundamental breadth of technical knowledge in cloud data management, backup and disaster recovery, and data analytics. Depth in one or two areas is great; you’ll draw on internal specialists for the rest.
  • Fluent German and business-proficient English. This role is customer-facing across the German enterprise market.
  • Comfortable travelling within Germany for onsite customer meetings and workshops, and presenting confidently in person as well as on screen.
  • A high level of business acumen and experience working with C-level personnel, bringing technology solutions to solve business challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in infrastructure, data centre technology, or cybersecurity. Rubrik’s SEs come from a range of starting points (infrastructure, cloud, security) and grow into the full platform from there, so this helps but isn’t required.
  • Entrepreneurial - willing to go the extra mile, strong work ethic, resourceful, “get it done” attitude.
  • Thrives in a fast-moving environment, including handling multiple calls/demos per day with immediate follow-up.
  • Based in or near Munich is a plus for easy in-person collaboration with the team, though not required.
  • Smart, adaptable, and open-minded.

Sales Senior Solutions Engineer (f/m/d) - Texas, USA Remote at Hygraph

Leads technical discovery, solution architecture, demos, workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements for prospects and customers.

Senior Hybrid Posted 10 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Description

How you will make an impact:

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Hygraph, you’ll be the trusted technical and strategic partner to engineering and content leaders at organizations evaluating Hygraph. This is a US-based role focused on prospects and customers in the US market, and you’ll collaborate closely with Hygraph colleagues across the globe. You’ll lead with discovery, not features: understanding what a prospect is trying to achieve, then designing and proving a solution that gets them there.

This is a hybrid role. About 70% of your time will focus on pre-sales solutions engineering: running discovery, shaping solutions, delivering tailored demos and workshops, and leading Proof of Outcomes engagements. The other 30% carries into post-sales solutions architecture, guiding new customers through key architecture decisions and early implementation so the outcomes we commit to in the sales cycle are the outcomes customers achieve. Across both, you’ll work closely with Account Executives, CSMs, Product, and our Forward Deployed Engineers, who build hands-on alongside strategic prospects and customers.

Reporting to the Director of Solutions & Support, you’ll help shape how pre-sales and solutions architecture work together at Hygraph as we scale. This is a customer-facing role built on a software engineering foundation, not a software development position.

What you’ll work on:

Pre-sales solutions engineering (about 70%)

  • Lead technical discovery to uncover a prospect’s business goals, current architecture, and definition of success, and connect them to measurable outcomes.

  • Design and present solution architectures tailored to each prospect’s stack, content operations, and constraints.

  • Build and deliver demos that tell the prospect’s story, including developing web front-end prototypes with modern frameworks.

  • Scope and run Proof of Outcomes engagements (Hygraph’s approach to proofs of concept), agreeing clear success criteria with the prospect and partnering with Forward Deployed Engineers on hands-on build work.

  • Lead technical workshops and deep dives for executives, architects, developers, and content teams.

Sales Senior Solutions Engineer (f/m/d) - Texas, USA Remote at Hygraph

Leads technical discovery, solution design, demos, workshops, and proofs of concept for prospects while guiding early customer architecture and implementation.

  • Own the technical win in late-stage deals, including security, scalability, integration, and migration questions.

  • Partner with Account Executives on account strategy, qualification, and deal planning.

  • Bring field insight back to Product and Engineering on what prospects need and why we win or lose.

Post-sales solutions architecture (about 30%)

  • Drive a clean handoff from sales to onboarding, carrying agreed outcomes and success criteria into implementation.

  • Advise new customers on architecture, including content modeling, schema design, localization, frontend choices, and third-party integrations.

  • Partner with CSMs and Forward Deployed Engineers on complex technical engagements and expansion opportunities.

  • Contribute to reference architectures, best-practice guidance, and reusable assets used across the customer lifecycle.

  • Document complex customer cases to strengthen the team’s playbooks.

Requirements

What we expect from you:

  • At least 5 years in a technical, customer-facing role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting, including at least 3 years in B2B pre-sales for an API-first or developer-focused SaaS product.

  • Strong working knowledge of GraphQL and modern web architectures (React, Next.js, Svelte, and similar), plus composable and headless approaches.
